It's not mine but there is a bottle of 18 y/o in the house. It's very nice. Not as harsh as the younger expressions. Much more complex. Lots of peat and smoke.
I'm trying to keep costs low. Thinking about an Ardbeg 10y/o this month. Or if there's anything else around £35 on a good offer at the supermarket...

Thanked: 4I haven't tried Bowmore 12 or Auchentoshan American Oak but I would avoid Glenlivet altogether. I have a bottle of Glenlivet 12 that I don't think I'll ever get rid of. It is too dry, too salty, and it tastes more like home distilled bad liquor than whisky. Just my two cents...

Sometimes I like salty but point taken. Bowmore or auchentoshan? Anyone else? [emoji3]

Thanked: 36Nothing wrong with a salty whisky, within reason. Having said that I haven't tried Glenlivet yet.
