Thanked: 0Tonight I had a Chivas 25 year neat with a Davidoff cigar. Amazing!

Thanked: 36Weirdly the dalwhinnie 15 seemed to have a lot more flavour the next day, lots more honey, floral notes, citrus peel and generally a lot more going on. Still not what I'd usually choose but still very nice. Just got a message saying the bottle of Oban 14 I ordered has arrived at the shop, so I'll be sampling that tonight or tomorrow.

For something different and having gone to the brewery and sampled their beer & food (do it if you can) I decided to try a Dead Guy Whiskey (click on DGW link) and we were surprised beyond belief. Wife and I partook half the bottle today before we knew it. Straight up. Dissected it beyond belief. Being as anal as we are we came up with a long list of perceived notions. Below is a image of one of the nicest lists of aromas/bouquets/tastes/finishes notions to play with that we have found.
Enjoy.

Thanked: 36I like the aroma wheel. I was fascinated by the idea of a single malt vodka too. Shame it's not available in this country. If anyone's tried it I'd love to hear about it.

Thanked: 36I don't believe for a minute that no one else has had a whisky since my last post. Anyway, I've been exploring the Dalwhinnie all week but today I'll be opening a small bottle of Oban 14. Looking forward to it.

Don't believe it. I had a wee dram or two of Highland Park 18 last night. Excellent spirit.

Thanked: 4I'm enjoying a lovely drink of Ardbeg 10 as I am typing this.
The Laphroaig Quarter Cask has long been my favorite "go to" everyday Islay whisky but the Ardbeg just might steal the spotlight.

Bowmore Darkest Sherry 15. Smoky/sweet/spicy with a touch of Islay leather.
