"A supurb re-working of an always trustworthy malt. This dramatic change in shape works a treat and suits the malt perfectly. What a sensational success!" - Jim Murray, 2013
In 2006 the 12 Year Old was named the ‘Best Sherried Whisky’ in the Single Malt World Cup. More recently Glenfarclas 12 Year Old won Gold at the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival in 2007 and again in 2008.
For me , I can definitely taste the sherried notes and also the spiciness that lingers long afterwards. Although to some, it's considered to be sacrilege, I like to add just a teaspoon of water and it really brings out the flavours.
I enjoyed it and I think at that price it's worth giving it a try.Last edited by Slasher; 01-09-2015 at 05:37 PM.

Ugh....like taking a shot of smoke. I love scotch but this is the first time in 20+ years I've found one that "repels".

Scotch/whiskey of the day
Ooh, I'll have it!
Also, slasher, thanks for the tip. Some do have so much more flavour with touch of water allowed to air.
I think my bunnahabhain 12y/o was somewhat similar.
Funnily enough. I'm at the end of an aberlour 10 y/o, which tastes thin and bland if you add any water to it.Last edited by PigHog; 01-09-2015 at 11:59 PM.
