I know what you mean about the prices, they have increased significantly over the past few years probably due to the increase in popularity, I'm just glad i bought my bottle a few years ago when the price was a lot lower than the current retail price. My current favourite Japanese whisky would be Nikka Taketsuru, I have yet to try the Hakashu but it's on the list

Taketsuru is apparently very good, from what I've heard. That does make 10 bottles on my list now...
I thinks that's a 50cl bottle though, isn't it? So back to my point above...

Need a bit of assistance with my next purchase. I'm torn between (in no particular order):
Aultmore 12 year old
Clynelish 14 year old
Tomintoul 14 year old
I'm leaning towards a bottle of clynelish but they're all very tempting. What do you guys think?

Old Pulteney 12 yr last night. People refer to some whisky as a "sherry bomb". This is a "bourbon bomb". Lots of vanilla and a good amount of oak.
Nice dram.

Looks like I just purchased Master of Malt's last bottle of Aultmore 12 year old.
The fact that it was the last one decided it for me. Will likely buy the clynelish next time.

Scotch/whiskey of the day
The Aultmore is very good if you're looking for a light and fruity, non-smokey, unpeated whisky. It's a very clean and fresh whisky.
Only tried straight after opening on Wednesday, so I'll give it another go either tonight or, more likely, tomorrow and give a better write-up.
I was interested in a bottle of lagavulin 8 year old but then I saw the price and it put me off a little. Perhaps for my next peated purchase, I'm looking at the Port Charlotte Scottish Barley.
