Bowmore is good. I'd get a bottle of Tempest 10 year old if you can. Cask strength, non chill filtered and natural colour, I'm pretty sure. I tried batch 3; I think they're onto batch 5 or 6 now. Actually, looks like it could have been discontinued recently!
Earlier batches are probably still available though.
Failing that their Small Batch is decent and you can't go wrong with a standard 12 year old.

Thanked: 36I was about to say I'd heard tempest wasn't that great, but then I realized I was thinking of Talisker Storm. I haven't tried either myself. Anyone tried Talisker Storm? I'll look out for Tempest.

Talisker storm isn't too bad. I'd still buy a 10 year old if I had the choice but storm is ok. It's Skye that isn't worth the purchase.

Ive just bought a bottle of Bowmore 9 year old.
Sherry cask matured. £33.20 including postage. Looks like a steal. Will report back when it arrives...

It's open and is a good whisky on first impression. I'll have another go tomorrow night and post a little more detail. Also want to talk about Ardbeg Dark Cove—if anyone's tried this, I'd be interested in your opinions.
