Tonight it's a dram of Quinta Ruban from Glenmorangie. Honestly, I'm disappointed. Too much oak.

I've had the La Santa before and really liked it. Generally, I like Glenmorangie.

Me too. I like The Original 10 year and the Finealta blew my socks off. This is the first time I have been underwhelmed by a Scotch whisky.

I'm not sure what this is good for but I signed up.

Just cracked open the cask strength springbank 12 year old (early birthday present) and it's great! Lots of smoke but fruity with a taste like cherry cough sweets on the front of the tongue. Long smoky, lavender(?) finish.

I'm going to be in Edinburgh a couple of days next month. Planning on visiting a distillery or two there and bringing back a couple of bottles.

Which batch number did you get? It sounds quite different to the bottle I've got.

Batch 9. It's only a hint of lavender on the finish, or at least I can't think of what else it might be. It's very fruity, like apples and raisins...um...I'd have to drink more to expand...
