It's a nice, economical way to test drive an expression. The small bottles are 75 ml if I remember correctly. The box was only about 6 or 7 dollars more than the large 10 yr Original on the shelf.

I have to be honest - Penderyn has been on my radar for a little over a year now. I have seen it on the shelf and wanted to pick it up, but always had other targets at the time. Definitely one I will try. Which of the expressions do you prefer and recommend?

I accept your challenge!! (I just don't know when.)

    That's an amazing deal!

Had a nice drop of Lagavulin 16 last night and finally posted a review to my blog. Almost finished the bottle now and I'll miss it when it's gone, but I can start investigating my little bottle of Glenkinchie at last.

I want to try the new HP Dark Origins and also the new Bowmore expressions.

Might get either a bowmore or the springbank 12 batch 9 next.

Plus aberlour 10 with no water at all is a vast improvement on even just 1 tsp of water. Much richer and fuller.

    Hi Paul,

I would go for the Madeira single malt we would all love to try the Penderyn single cask but at £150 a bottle that's off my menu until I win the lottery.:-)

The first two sentences from your signature seem rather appropriate here:

"When you are dead, you don't know that you are dead. It's difficult only for the others."

    Indeed, very difficult.....!

Has anyone tried Lagavulin 12 yo cask strength or the distiller's edition? I just discovered they're rather more affordable than I'd assumed and I'm considering indulging.

I've had both and both are gems. But when i have to choose, I'd go with the 12yo. It's nice and oily and full of flavor.

Thanks, I'd heard the distillers edition was good but not as good as it sounds, but hadn't heard anything on the 12. I think I'll order a bottle on pay day.
