The Laphroig 18 is like having the nicest warmest campfire in a glass. I would highly recommend it as a special occasion scotch.

Default Any bourbon drinkers out there?

Just wondering if there are any bourbon drinkers out there? Wanted to see what others favorites are and hear about stuff I haven't tried. I am in Georgia not everything makes it my way. My favorites are Basil Hayden's, Woodford, and Rowan's Creek. Currently on my bourbon shelf is Buffalo Trace, Bulleit, Basil Hayden's, Woodford, Jefferson's Reserve, and Eagle Rare 10 yr.

I love the Highland park 18 so I bought a bottle of the Highland Park 25 year thinking it would have to be better. Well the 25 year is a good scotch but IMO it's not as good as the 18. So now I know save my money and buy the 18

I find many 18 year old scotch very tasty. Spending the money for the 25 sometimes makes no sense.

I haven't tried the 18, but I do have a bottle of the HP 15 at home. It's good stuff, and a bit different from the 12. According to Highland Park's YouTube videos, it's because the 15 is matured in Sherry casks made from American oak rather than the European oak Sherry casks used for the 12 and 18 yo expressions. "It's all about tree", as the host put it...

My current 18 is Chivas Regal. It's very good, but comparing it to a good single malt is like comparing Sam Adams lite to their regular Boston Lager. The single malt/Boston Lager just has more flavor!
