I was thinking about coffee a lot this morning. Two days ago my wife made me a cup in my french press, using the variables i lade out, two and a part spoons of coffee grind, exact amount of water, steeped for this amount of time. And it was the best cup i've ever had! For two days now i've been trying to recreate what my wife did and have failed every attempt! My coffee tastes bland in comparison. It's really getting to me.
To make matters worse she doesn't even like coffee.

My standard brew is a potful of folgers black silk in a standard bun drip pot. I'll probably get a French press soon but just havnt done it yet. At one point I was up to around 4 pots a day. My Sgt and LT just about had heart attacks when they found out. I consider it something of an accomplishment considering one is an intel Marine and the other a SWO

Yes, if you have a Kees Speedster crowding you out of your too small kitchen, you know you are coffee snob and can't make yourself come to accept the free coffee at work. So I drink their free tea instead. It's equally awful. Go figure.
Oh, and lastly for the record, FiveBucks puts out charred crap! Their over-roasted dreck is what drove me to brew espresso myself at home with the idea that I'd save a ton of money. Not sure how the money-saving idea panned out, but I'm drinking fine coffee daily.--Mark
