Nice grinder. I like the quick access to the burrs for cleaning and dial-in/metered dosing. Trick!

The biggy is no bogging or slowing down. No change in motor sound from free wheeling to grinding to free wheeling. Just whirr and done.

I got a notification that it already shipped. I didn't expect that. I was hoping that it would be here by end of year but it looks like it will be here by end of week. I'll take a pic. Everybody here loves pics.

My go to is a ceramic manual grinder and aeropress. I recently found a stainless aeropress copy I want to get. Aeropress makes a super strong concentrated coffee without the intense bitterness. Smooth and delicious just black.

Very nice....love the machines that grind it for you.

I've got my stove top Bialetti espresso maker, it's a great little pot, but makes almost non-existent crema, have the Bialetti Moka Pot that is supposed to do the crema, but essentially gives a great big sneeze at the end and still almost no crema.

I love fresh ground coffee though, and have the 900 BCC Cuisinart Automatic Grind and Brew with the Burr grinder, not the best machine out there, but it delivers a superb 12 Cups every time, but nothing like freshly ground coffee with your bean of choice....the darker roast the better.

Funny enough, after all the artisan beans I've tried, one of the nicest coffee's I've found is the whole bean French Roast I can get for $9.00 Cdn a pound at WalMart....half the price of the Starbucks Verona.

Ordering coffee can be like ordering soaps, you think they're going to be Tier 1, and they end up with a sad, "meh".....Kicking Horse and quite a few others just don't have the "bite" that I really love in a cup of Joe...

Funny you say that Andrew, after all the beans I've tryed my favorite coffe comes from Kroger, the dark roast Community coffe, those guys in Louisianna got it pretty good for an inexpensive coffee. Tc

Thanks Tc, I'm going to look for that, just sitting down having a hot cup of French Roast now....really enjoying the extra hour in the day.

    Kroger Community Dark Roast...thanks.

I have two local roasters that produce very nice coffee. But when it comes to espresso, I don't like acidity. And both of the local roasters put forth a rather winey tasting blends with stingy cremas. So for espresso I have been buying Italian blends that tend to be less acidic with more roasty, chocolatey, and nutty flavors. I'd say they are about $10/lb, give or take. Freshness counts but it can't make up for a blend that just doesn't work for you.

Today, the little Cremina and Baratza Vario have done a great espresso double shot of my home roasted beans after a 4 day rest:
Burman's BCT espresso Blend (2 parts)
    Ethiopian Yirgh (1)
    Guatemalan Hue Hue (1)
Medium roast all to just into second crack. ( no oil but medium dark.) Think Hersey bar coloring.
Home Coffee Roasting Green Coffee Beans Moderators, remove if necessary.
Sweet but I can take taste the coffee bite.
I can recommend home roasting for those that have the time and a couple hundred dollars for a simple roaster. It is not very much cheaper than buying small lots of roasted from a known quality vendor though. Only advantage is you have freshly roasted beans available when you want. Drawback is you only have so many types/nationalities of green beans on hand and so do not get to try a different type every time you buy beans.
    Have fun!
