Thanked: 32Yes, used one for years before I got a real espresso machine. There are lots of ways to use it. I suggest trying the inverted method. I like checking the Aeropress Championship (yes, there is a competition) winning methods.

Have been looking at a look at lots of the local roasters and there are a lot of them. Trying to find something close to home or on the way to work. Yahava is about 40 min away.
YouTube has stacks of vids on just about every coffee device known to man. Sure you can find some good ones to try. Again fresh roasted coffee will make a big difference but have heard that the coffee from the aeropress is pretty good.My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

yeah i saw something on the box about a world championship. It might stem from the fact that the same company makes aerobie frisbees.
invering make sense as it gets the coffee off of the bottom, I tried it earlier and it did make a decent coffee, 4 scoops fresh ground coffee and water up to #4, was a bit of effort to squash down though.
I have ordered a Hario Skerton grinder to see if that makes a difference over the cheap electric blade grinder i have at the moment.Bread and water can so easily become tea and toast

i dont want to go too crazy with gear, i just want a simple setup, i dont drink black coffee/ espresso neat anyway, i prefer it fairly milky. i like my mokka pot, i like my plunger too but not as much, i can make good strong coffee with the mokka which is a good base for the pint or so of coffee i end up with.
I think the aeropress will be good too, i have to say that i dont like the fact that you have to use filter papers, not for the cost but for the fact that you have to have them to use the machine.
Though in saying all of that Hario have some really cool and interesting coffee making equipment in their inventoryBread and water can so easily become tea and toast

Ed the hand grinder will make a ton of difference. I brought a antique mill style but it is a big step up in quality imo. I think from memory you can get stainless mesh filters for the aeropress. Check out the coffeesnob site. Lots of helpful info and is a aussie forum.
