I guess my routine would be:
- Luke-warm water rinse, then cold water rinse
- Pat face dry with clean towel
- Clean brush and shake off rigorously and leave out of cupboard to dry
- Clean soap or stick and leave out to dry or store away if a stick
- Clean razor on towel
- Apply anti ingrown hair lotion
- Rinse pre-shave 'hot towel'
- Apply after shave balm

After rinsing Razor, Brush, and Scuttle I use Cold water on face and neck. Double check for missed spots, then after 15 min or so, I apply Mario Badescu's Aloe Vera Toner which I keep in my Fridge.

I shall soon be replacing my 'anti-ingrown hair lotion' step with one-pass of wet alum block, when the lotion finally runs out. I used it while on holiday this summer and it worked fairly well. Following with a soothing balm or Skin Food does it for me after that.
I use AoS Ingrown Hair Night Cream every night in the evening which works a treat. Don't need to use it after a shave at all.

Thanked: 16Warm water rinse, alum block, rinse and strop my razor, cold water rinse, dry face, after shave lotion about 50% of the time. Styptic pencil on the smallest nicks, pressure on the worst of the nicks, small bits of tissue paper over the rest of the nicks. Spend the rest of the day walking around with small bits of tissue paper clinging to my face, explaining why the tissue paper is there.

For me so far it is:
Rinse and dry razor
Cold water, sometimes warm water, splash on the face.
Put cold water on a towel, ring out to get extra water off, so I don't drip everywhere, and apply to face to get the rest of the lather off. I also massage face with the cold towel.
Apply Alum block and allow to dry
Strop razor (20 on fabric / 40 on leather) This might be overdoing it but still learning everything also.
put razor away (I keep it on the case it came in so extra protection)
Clean by lather bowl/container
Rinse off brush (either cold or warm) and squeeze water out then pat with towel and hang to dry.
I am thinking about trying the Witch Hazel, we shall see. Do not use any AS or ASB, never got into them and don't get the point of them.

1 wipe razor clean and dry
2 rinse out mug, brush, and mixing bowl
3 cold water rinse
4 apply styptic to anything cold water rinse could not stop from bleeding.
5 apply either Nivea post shave balm, or a nice aftershave lotion( varies )
6 razor goes back in its case, mug and brush back in medicine cabinet
7 try to enjoy the rest of the day at least knowing I am clean-shaven.
