Can't see through the fog...
Hey what do you guys do when the mirror fogs up?
Occasionally I will revert to a tiny bit of lather on fingertips and rub it on the mirror, that will clear it up for the rest of the shave but does not help long term and needs to be cleaned off at a latter date....
What's your trick?
Sam.

I crack a window in the bathroom or turn the vent fan on.
Also keep a dry towel on hand for such occasions. Although if there was some sort of anti-fogging mirror solution, I'd probably buy it right up.

Gentlemen:
I never have the foggy mirror problem at home, because my shave den is separate from the shower stall and the tub area. To solve the foggy mirror problem in hotels where the sink and the shower usually share the same room, I turn the bathroom fan on and leave the door open. That eliminates the foggy mirror problem.

Obie

Thanked: 46I have seen a variety of solutions. One is a heated mirror, either electric or by runing the hot water pipes against the back of the mirror. Another is a heat lamp fitted in the ceiling directly above the mirror rather than in the centre of the room. Personally I just rub hot water over the mirror before I start and warm it up.

The easiest solution is a cold water shave.
The second easiest is a different bathroom for shave den.
After that would be a good exhaust fan. I have crohn's so all of my bathrooms have been outfitted with the best exhaust fans I can afford.
After that, you might consider sine of the Rain X anti fog. I haven't yet tried it so ymmv.
Also, when scuba diving I tested various home remedies for fog prevention. The commercial stuff works well but isn't cheap. I don't remember the brand of toothpaste but there was one that could be wiped on, rubbed in, then rinsed off and it worked wonderfully.

They do have sprays you can apply to keep a mirror from fogging up. I've never used one but I know I've seen them.

I treat my mirrors every time I clean them with this:
Rain-X®: Anti-Fog Wipes with Glass Cleaner
I shave while the wife showers and she turns the shower all the way up.

Not being someone who likes to waste anything, I use the remnants of my old shave goo in a can to treat the mirror once a week. Just lather a small bit on, let it dry to a thin film and wipe it off with a dry towel.

I put the vent on before I start so it doesn't get foggy.
