Capt Smith's
I picked up a bottle of Capt Smith's from Classic Shaving and tried it out this morning. This was my first experience with a Bay Rum. I like it. I have been using some aloe based lotion after shaving topped off with Jean Paul Gaultier cologne since I started using a str8 a month ago. I like the way this Bay Rum makes my face feel better. Ohh but it does bite a bit.

PS Hey SixGun, what kind of wheel guns do you have? I am wanting to get a couple of 45s and try my hand at mounted cowboy shooting. What could be more fun than popping balloons from a horse running 20 mph for time with a six gun?

Yes! I'd love that. I just saw a bunch of different ones on amazon and I have nooooo idea where to begin except by the customer reviews (which so far say to stay away from lucky tiger).
but so far, I have a 4 oz bottle from these guys (Ogallala):
eBay Store - Ogallala Bay Rum: Bay Rum, Cologne, Aftershave
and it is great! ...I'm not too hot about the Limes and Peppercorns sample that they sent tho.

Thanked: 13245Ogallala Bay Rum/Sandalwood
One of the door prizes I ended up with at the NC meet-up was the Ogallala Bay Rum Sandalwood....
Now keep in mind that scent is a personal thing, but this stuff smells great to me and I gotta say the conditioning aspect is even better than the regular Bay Rum that he sells maybe the extra oil or something.. Although not a true bay rum it is definitely one of my new favs....

Hey Doc!
Royall Lyme Fragrances 4 -8oz for $68 - eBay (item 130286927802 end time Feb-16-09 13:52:46 PST)
I literally just ordered this about 30 minutes ago. Figured with 100% + feedback and 1884 feedback it was safe. $68 total for 4 - 8 oz bottles, no where is even close on price if you don't mind stocking up! I got two Lymes and Two BayRhums. Wish I had seen this an hour earlier I would have contracted you for a split of the 4 and just ordered all Bay Rhum.
Yes, I am mostly back form the self-imposed "banishment"!

I hadn't seen this thread in a while. When I did, though, I went out and bought a half dozen or so Bay Rums. The Ogallala Bay rum and even better....Bay Rum and Sandalwood, are the only ones I am still using. This morning, I forgot to shake the BR&S, and I think that made more of the oils come out. I also used a little more than I had. I still carry the scent with me. I shaved at 5am! That's 8 hours! I wonder if it's the quantity, or the fact that I forgot to shake it, or the fact that I applied a little, used some corn huskers, then put another dash on top of that. Something made the scent last all day, and I'm loving it! Though it was a little much this morning.
If you don't have any of this....go, right now, and order some. it's not expensive, they are a joy to deal with, it conditions nicely, and it smells damned nice.
