    Default pronunciation of pinaud

i figured.. it's probably pee-know.. like pinot noir.. but seeing as how i'm not quite french or any nationality that speaks french.. i feel like a moron saying pee-know.. what about puh-nod?

how do you pronounce it? i'm guessing i'll just go by whatever obie has to say on the subject.

Victor, I'm ashamed to admit it but I honestly do not know for sure. Being Canadian and learning French in school (as opposed to Spanish, which seems more common in the States) I should probably know. I voted for "pee-know", which seems correct, at least to me. Pinaud products are not common at all in Canada, so I've never heard anyone refer to it in person.

Perhaps one of our friends from Quebec or France would be able to enlighten us. Scott from Rasage Poulin is a proud French-Canadian, I'll bet he'd know as well.

It depends whether another word beginning with a vowel immediately follows

I believe that Pinaud being a name of French origin, it sounds like "Pee-node", but the "d" is silent.
