Thanked: 1160I keep a nice Morgan Earp goin and like the firehouse myself.I alternate between the gray and the wacky tacky. I used to melt it in the tin with a lighter then apply which works but most times just rub some between my fingers to heat it and rub it in and then comb.Morgan Earp - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thanked: 1185As is obvious form my SOTD posts, Firehouse Wacky Tacky is my go-to wax but occasionally I'll pick up some Oregon Wild Hair which is just a tad less stiff than the Firehouse. Firehouse is really tough to beat for sheer holding power. I normally just run my index fingernail over the wax until a bead covers the nail, I then just kind of mush it between my index finger and thumb and rub until the wax is kind of a pasty consistency. From there I just kind of pull it through one side of my moustache forming the handlebar then reload my fingernail and repeat the procedure on the other side. I seldom comb it afterwards, preferring instead to brush it out before applying the wax.

I do appreciate the fact that a handlebar moustache takes a certain kind of flair to wear, by people such as aviators, lawmen, car buffs, barbers, bartenders, etc, basically some pretty manly dudes over the years...

My vote is fire house as well if you want to buy something ready made.
I find that for the perfect Moustach - (much grander than a mustache) I re-wet it after my shave. I use a fine tooth comb and a blow dryer to set the shape. By blow drying your Stache you will do more then any wax will do for you. Keep the dryer on low heat and use the comb as a shield to keep the warm air from drying out the end until you reach it with the comb.
During this time I set my tin of wax on a light bulb on the night stand of the bed to warm up. start with the center of the stache and work toward the end. As soon as I have both sides done I gently comb out the first side I waxed. I use my right hand to do the right side and the left hand for the left side, this seems to keep the sides equal in shape
Another option is to make your own.
2.5 - 3 table spoons bees wax, depending on how stiff you want it!
1 table spoon coconut oil.
1 pinch gum of arabic about 1/2- 3/4 the size of a sweet pea.Sometime I will use pine rosin as well
1 drop of essential oil for a smell you like.
pre-slice and heat the bees wax in a small jar in a pan of boiling water.
when melted add the the gum of arabic and blend.
add coconut oil and essential oil.
pour out into a tin
let cool
then simply warm and serve. I keep a tin in my pocket all the time for touch up in the afternoon when needed.
hope this helps.

You bet that is where the southern outdoor gentleman shops. You can find just about anything there from grazing stock supply to the latest in Garden fashion. Not to mention vaccines for Fido to Chickens & bearings for tractor to go-carts.
And the CAMO Bibs are a sight to see in the fall line up, All of that is just on the inside. What more in a store could a man want?A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check, made payable to the United States of America, "for an amount up to and including my life".

Well I've decided to grow my mustache back out, and I picked up a tin of firehouse to go with it. Great product! I keep the majority of it tamed down with stache bomb, and then the last half an inch or so I load up with the firehouse because it has a stiffer hold, and when I'm not at work I like to curl the ends into a "petite handlebar" style.
