Okay, this settles it. Once I get my two back from Gentleman's Den I am posting pics of ALL my W&B blades. They need to play with friends.

It is marked with a crown and W.R. so it should be from 1830-1837. Except a small nick on the blade it looks to be in good condition.
The scales are cracked and probably needs to be replaced.

My question is, how you would treat this on?. Leave it as is, (the patina adds to it in my opinion) or try to polish it up? if i try to polish it up I would loose the etching on the blade as faint as it is.

    that's a tough one
it looks great as is with all its character
I am a minimalist for most razors if it functions fully, a light clean, hone & use would be on the cards
but if it gets pulled apart it gets the full treatment as I only want to do it once

but damn that would look nice with all shiny & like new.

Is there a good way to date W&B razors? I picked up several last weekend at the Covered Bridge Festival in Indiana. Pictures to follow as soon as I get them all sorted out!

1830-37 square point. The scales are wood from a French razor, added to the blade recently.

Hello Ya'll. Just got my first W&B. Like every previous poster, I'm gonna scour the internets trying to date this one. No blade etching I can discern through the patina. The scales, to my limited knowledge, appear to be horn. It's the embellishments that are new to me. Anyone seen these before?

It is a pre 1891 or it would say Sheffield, England on it. That would be a nice one to restore. I have one just like it or similar.
