Not making a judgment call, just a guess. I was going more on the shape of the thumbnotches - they look a bit crude for Wade and Butcher, and that I've handled a few double thumbnotch razors that were roughly ground post-factory. But that's certainly not to say they didn't exist, and it's hard to tell for sure. On the India steel razor, that style of hollow point appears a lot on the older models of WB, Greaves, Rodgers. It's one of my favorite points.

Thanked: 4Hey gents. I recently got a wb 7/8 on eBay. The post didn't say anything about it, but there is a faint etching on the blade that reads "the Egyptian razor." Does anyone have any info about this razor?
It's the first of its kind that I've seen.
It had golden horn scales on it originally.

That's a great find! Funny, I grabbed a W&B 7/8th today as well!! That one will clean up well, do you have the original scales or are you going with something different?

Got this one for under 10 bucks and it was in bad shape.
Cleaned it up, made a set of honey brown buffalo horn scales and honed it up.
One of my best shavers.
