Very minimal honewear, same as you'd get on a new razor that has been vendor-sharpened. I have a Dovo from SRD, which came the same.

So excited to get my new Fillies! Red is mint. White is restored. Both have mineral oil on them in photos. Instantly two of my favorites in my collection.

I guess I was terribly unpolite about that. I'm sorry, never received a post notification until today.
Sadly, lost the link weeks ago.
I'm sure the blade is pre 1950, and scales aren't.
I think, despite personal opinions (this doesn't want to sound unpolite, english isn't my mother language), NOS means new and complete, but stored for years.
In this case, we've got an old blade with newer scales. Maybe both new, and old, and stored for years, but not NOS due to being pieces from two diferent razors.
At last, as said, blade is what do the work.
About dating: 1962 is the date of registering in the USA, not in Spain. There had been Doble Temple Fillies at least since 30's
Hope that helps.:o
This showed up in the mail yesterday, I just got a good edge on her and I'm pretty excited about shaving tomorrow morning :)

Well I Am so excited (for lack of a better word) in my most recent purchase. I did get the seller to lower their price. Dam you Celtic crusader for your sexy filarmonica pictures that have awoken this list in me. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=331087478676
Hi! I ordered this razor today at ebay.
Can anyone tell if this is bad or good buy? Has read some about quality differens between old and newer razors but guess this is newer one.
Importent for me is the NOS and never honed but I'm just curious about this one.
Look at the case, last pic if that will tell.

Love the scales where do you get those?
I can't tell you if it's a good buy. If you're happy with what you paid, I'd say yes!! :)
I have an EPBD #13 which is one of my favorite razors. It's the same quality as yours, but it has been honed.
Yours looks to be a 14 by the pics, but just guessing. The 13's are the sweet spot for me, and that's nothing against the 14. They are excellent razors, and you're going to love it I expect.
Congrats, and Enjoy that Razor!! :tu
Howard :)
If you use it long enough, someday it may be a 13.
I have a #14 Novodur Para Profesionales, and that wide and that thin of a grind just doesn't play nice with my face. I can use it, but I much prefer the 13.
I'm sure their are a bunch here that prefer it just the opposite, hope you end up being one of them. They really are a great razor!! :D
:)
Well today i bought NOS 13 Medallon Taurino Muleta. Couldn't resist the price, for me it was good price $179.
Guess i´m safe with both size now haha :)

I love Filarmonica's they are great razors and great shavers, I've owned quite a few 14 and 13 restored quite a few and honed quite a few and sold a few, I still have two 14 both 8/8 in mint condition I would never sell them and are certainly some of the best shavers I own.

Each Filly is a different razor and only the owner/user can tell you if it's a good one or not. By and large, they are all fairly decent and there are rarely if any bad ones. I've had 4 and all 4 have been good shavers.
It is a rare read when someone has a bad experience with a Filarmonica. If you've never owned one, get one.
Fantastic buy!
You beat me out on that one.
Many happy shaves to you.
My #14 doble temple is on its way... Am very anxious to receive it :)
Hi! First of all i want to say that my new 14 EPBD is awesome shave and edge was suprised thin, as paper. What a nice edge after some nakayama and close shave too. Great blade :)

My fila 14, up to this date !
In fact I have only one real filarmonica, the others are Monserrat "J4", a Better "celeste" almost NOS, and "the last but not the least" a Fila "Doble Temple" that I found these days for less than 5$...I have other 14 that I thought was made by fila but by looking closely, they aren't Fila, but rather some solingen...)

Hi guys, i'm new to filarmonica razors and today i just couldn't help miself and bought a no 13 NOS DT sub cero...it is post monserat...sello oro.
Should i be especting any quality diffrence betwen this one and my no 14 DT JMP? i'm a bit worried i read that there could be some diffrences in honing and quality of the shave you get...

Nice catch Zozo !!!!:-)
Hi. The Especial has insincription on tag? Or only on blade?
I'm looking to purchase a Filly, but I'm curious as to the what the different models are.
I'm looking for a small (4-5/8) razor with a half hollow grind, but I'm not sure if filly makes razors like that.
The closest I've found was the #10 Doble Temple, but I've read that, despite being possible for facial shaving, it was primarily designed for head shaving. Has anyone had any experience with this particular model?
Also, on the SRP database (Filarmonica "10-N" 4/8 - Straight Razor Place Library) the #10 is listed as having a full hollow grind, but the pictures I'm looking at show it to be more of a half hollow.
