Thanked: 235the 0.99c razor cleaned up
I haven't restored it, just cleaned it up and honed it. This razor shaves great. It feels like I'm just wiping the lather away with my finger. Its so smooth.

I received my nicely priced Bengall in the mail today. The scales are clean, the pivot is smooth, and it needs some honing. It's a winner to me

Thanked: 488Large Bengall Wedge
Hi Guys--I was at an antique store the other day and found this old(how old I'm not sure) Bengall wedge. It's pretty large and was in pretty good shape. I still need to polish it a bit more but I thought it was really nice. I've never even seen a Bengall wedge and honestly didn't know they made one especially this size. After the Bengall name it says something Steel but I can't tell what the type of steel it says it is. It hasn't been used much at all and the thing is as tight as when new. Thought you guys might enjoy seeing it and maybe give me an idea how old it might be.

Thanked: 235As I understand it what you have there is a pre 1906 Bengall. What it says on the tang would most probably be Cast steel. I can't tell you how much older than 1906, but it is a very nice razor.
