Thanked: 23Gave away my second Boker.
So, a friend of mine had a Birthday the other day. He had expressed a bit of an interest in Straight Razor shaving, so I decided I'd give him a good razor and a decent strop for his birthday. So, I picked him up a nice Boker King Cutter. If truth be told, in much better condition than the one I kept for myself.
I don't have any pictures of it handy right now (they are on my Fiance's computer), but I'll post some maybe tommorow. I'll admit, I felt a little bad giving it away.
It had a nice set of imitation ivory (celluloid or xynolite, maybe). The only flaw with the blade was a bit of the second T in King Cutter a bit chipped off (just the inlay). It honed up fantastic, with very, very little effort.
By the time I was done with it, I almost didn't want to give it away. Scatch that... I wanted it for my very own. :P
If you're going to set someone up, though, you might as well do it right.

Thanked: 23Boker Edelweiss
I was just wondering... Do any of you know anything about the Boker Edelweiss? I can pick a pair up at a local junk shop (one with a shit blade and good scales, the other with broken scales and an okay blade). I'd likely have to pay ten bucks for each though.
How do they stack up against the king cutter?

Thanked: 23Yeah
Thanks for the advice.
Yeah, I figured if they turned out to be as nice as a King Cutter I'd grab the two of them and try to rescale the one with the scales from the other at some point. Though knowing me, I'll likely shave with the one with the broken scales for ages before getting motivated. :P
I'll grab them next time I'm by the shop.

Here is a shot of a Red Injun No. 101 I just "restored".
Now I need to think of something to do with my king cutter blade...
