Just picked up a Boker (my second, first was a 101). It is a 5/8 round point with RADIUM etched in the blade (Boker and 1050 on the tang). Will get pics later (going out of town in 30 mins.). It may have been rescaled but not sure. Ivory colored plastic 3 pin scales(which is unfortunately warped). Will rescale with something nice.

Not sure when this thing was made (obvious later model than 101). Can anyone divulge any info on this one? Anyone know the significance of RADIUM?

    Regards,

Guys, I have couple of questions (more like a challenge) for you. I just got a used (and not very well kept) Boker at a very reasonable price. The thing about this piece is that it does NOT have a tree logo, instead it have an arrow logo. On the blade it has a "BOKER'S SPECIAL" gold etching that almost had to go because of the polishing. Also Boker was not written with the dots on the "O" on neither the blade and the shank. I finally alligned the scales with the blade and still working on the sharpness side. It's a 6/8 with round point
While I was doing that I went deep into the Böker site and found a nice history document that mentions the arrow logo being used by the Remscheid site, but the shank states Solingen therefore apparently it was made by the Solingen site for the Remscheid site; on the back of the shank it says "ALEMANIA". The big questions are:

    1) How rare / collectible is it?
    2) Which year/decade/era of production do you estimate?
    3) What kind of steel do you think the masters in Boker used?

Thanks for your help!!!!! (as soon as I get another camera I will post some images of it)

    Default My King Cutter

I picked up a cheap king cutter spike tip with broken scales and its gold wash still intact, so I made some new scales from 1/8" rosewood (just used an oil finish), repinned it with the orig washers and pins made from 1/6" nickel/silver alloy brazing rod. I guess it has lost its "collector" value with the new scales but its now my favourite shaver!
