I picked up this razor that was made for the Moller Barber College. The box in which "Moller Barber College" is written looks like the one used for the king cutter, but the arrows are narrower. On the tang, "426" is stamped along with "made in solignen", and after looking at the 1906 catalogue that Doc put up, on page 108 the "426" is listed as a 5/8" (just like this razor), extra hollow ground (just like this razor), full crocus-polished (just like this razor) and etched in gold (just like this razor). Too bad there's no picture of the 426 in the catalogue. All signs are pointing towards Boker....

What do you guy's think ? Is this razor worthy of letting me enter the brotherhood ??

H.Boker never used "Moller Barber College" trademark.
And this razor have nothing similar with razor from H.Boker catalog. IMO.

"Moller Barber College" is not a trademark, it's an american barber school established in the late 1800's.

This razor was specially made for them by a manufacturer in Solignen, but which one it is, I don't know. I just thought that it might be possbile that it was a special order made by Boker. The shape of the point, the model # stamped on the tang that fits this razor's description in the catalogue, the curve of the tang, the shoulders, the arrows in the etching LOOK like Boker.

Does anyone know if it was common practice for established manufacturers to make individualized special orders ?

I have an older Robeson made by Boker. It is stamped Robeson but has the tree symbol stamped on the monkey tail.

Why H.Boker? There were hundreds companies in Solingen.
Joe, you're right. Boker made the razor for another company, but put own stamp.

It's mostly the arrows in the box, I find they strangely resemble the Boker Arrows. I found that the shape of the blade also looked like Boker. And the model #426 which fit the catalogue description. There seemed to be a few things which pointed towards Boker, that's all.

But since Boker would have stamped their name somewhere on the razor, I'll have to dig around somemore to find out who would have made this razor.

Well im fairly new to the forum and figured its time to join the boker club this is the 3rd boker I have got and first one Itried to shave with so It will be my first boker I shaved with Ill post. I hope the knife doesnt take away from the razor cpm154 stainless with a ramon handle also creeping vine on the entire spine . the sheath is sea snake inlay 7/8 oz veg tan leather the blade is a rc of 61 . Enjoy the king cutter too I only nicked my face once

Shinny and sharp.

The 101SP was the first straight razor I bought, I'm hooked. I have just figured out how to shave without bleeding. The Damascus was the easiest to sharpen and has given me the best shave so far. I have others, as I clean them up and try them out, I'll post them too. I'm still learning how to take decent pics...lol
