Yep, 6/8-ish. Not exactly a wedge but a heavy grind. Maybe 1/2 hollow or 1/4 hollow. Minimal feedback and the added heft that makes a wedge plow through stubble so easily. It took an ultra smooth edge. Outstanding razor.

Can someone please recommend a seller, or a few brands of Japanese straights that will be good quality steel, but won't drain my wallet.. anything over $90 is too expensive for me at the moment and I wouldn't mind a beat up blade either, I can restore, build scales, etc.

Please PM, or post here, any help would be much appreciated, as I don't really know much about these.

I don't know of any razor you can get for $90 or less. I've been lucky on getting a few inexpensive ones on the various forums' buy sell trade listings. I bought some of mine from Japanese ebay sellers, but they are all much more expensive. aframestokyo.com out of Hawaii ocassionaly has some good deals as well.

As for brand names, all the Japanese razors are excellent. Especially well-liked are Hayashi Diamond, but as I said they are all good razors from my experience.

Try putting a "want to buy" in the SRP classifieds. Someone may have a "user grade" razor for a price you might like.

Ebay has a fair few Japanese kamisori and Japanese western straights up for grabs. Seller: April7th1989 has a load of razors for less than $90 both NOS and shave ready. Never used this seller but they get good feedback. Look out for tosuke, iwasaki, henkotsu, new azuma, zubura, eiko, yasuhira, hayashi diamond, hoshi tombo and kikuboshi to name a few.
You cant really go wrong with Japanese razors so good luck.

Thank you guys, that helped! This seller has more than a few that I like.. No idea why the prices vary so greatly, but I found some that I like even in the $50-60 range.. and also quite a few in the $80-100 range. I am so tempted by those in the $130-150.. you know how that goes I've set my limits though, I have to be strong! [emoji23]
