Now for this one worse comes to worse, I'll just salvage the scales. There is some pitting near the edge, but I'm banking on the fact that Japanese frameback razors are thicker than full hollows.Name: uploadfromtaptalk1442960073284.jpg

You're sure on the roll with them jap's. Very nice blades.

I've received my Kanno Kikuboshi a while ago and it's a beast and a beauty at the same time. Killer shaver.

Well bought my first Japanese western style razor. Kinda a blind purchase.

did I over pay for it?

Looks nice but I found the pics slightly deceiving. Scales are awesome! Hope it shaves great for you! Dont know if you overpaid by the way... if it hones and shaves well, it's all good.

    Deceiving in what way?
I've been a straight shaver for just under a year. First Japanese ever? Very new to this. Thank for your help

I did say "slightly" There isn't a picture straight from the top from both sides, for instance. Spine wear is visible, but not obvious, I can tell it's uneven, now that I've had a second look. I think you will find the toe to be more honed out than the heel. I found this to be common in some japanese straights, although I havent been looking at them for a very long time, only for a few months. This means the width of the razor near the toe will be smaller than at the heel.. at least I'd think so, looking at the photos. Secondly, the lighting is poor.. but at least they havent used flash!

However, if the razor was perfect, it would have probably cost you 3 times that. So dont worry... tell us what you think when it arrives and maybe post some better pics.

Today i got this Mint Dairi, complete with its Package, i guess it was only one time sharpened after it was sold, had a very nice shave with it a few Minutes ago :-)

Does anyone know what the Kanji on the Package mean?
Could identify two Words as Dairi & Kamisori in Hiragana (?) but the first couple of signs i dont know.
