Lol I thought all Japanese straights were asymmetrical.
    lol educate me!
A lot of Japanese razors come with a western grind and are honed just like any straight razor. Kamisoris in scales seem to be a lot harder to come by and are honed accordingly. Either way you've got yourself a great razor made from (I think) yasuki white 2 steel and as I said should be a fine shaver.

Well I'm new to Japanese straights. This is my first.
I'm told it's an Eiko. I don't know anything about them. Educate me please. Blind buy...
Any special instructions to hone this?
Top notch shavers, some of the best of all Japanese blades. Eiko hone really easy and take butter smooth edge.

Just put "yasuki steel" in the search box, there are loads more people more knowledgeable than myself but yasuki steel is made by Hitachi Metals using iron sand. For razors white steel and blue steel is mainly used. What that means to end uses is that white steel will take an edge more easily and blue steel will hold its edge longer.

A few new arrivals. First pic is a Suzumasa, probably newer production, no stamp on the tang or anything, other than the mark on the scales. I am still undecided on this one, but I received it as a gift, so really happy about that. It's a full hollow blade. Takes a good edge easily, but I am not sure whether it will retain it. After the first shave, I think it collapsed, with some micro chips appearing seemingly out of nowhere.

The second one is an Atlas No 17 FBU.. absolutely stunning, took me a while to set the bevel, but once I was done, the edge was amazing and so was the shave. It's a quarter hollow, this one... or near wedge, I guess that's the same thing.

My humble japanese collection now counts 3 straights [emoji4]

These are outstanding razors. Mine takes a magnificent edge. It's easy to hone, and it shaves like a dream. I will not part with mine.

This beauty should arrive in couple of weeks.
    Iwasaki kamisori tamahagane.

During restoration they found out that jigane is made from British iron called Rentetsu, Namaji or Kamaji.
Below is part of mail sent buy restorer.

Your Kamisori happened to be using a Rentetsu material for the jigane (base iron), this is a late 1800s British*irons, used for construction materials, rails, anchors, boilers, etc. etc. from early to mid Meiji. It has a very nice damascus like layered pattern due to the old iron smelting technology, which could not melt the iron ore completely, hence could not remove all the impurities. But this is very beneficial for tools’ jigane material, that they are very brittle and easy to grind, and also has the mentioned handsome pattern.*
