Beautiful 8000 Stefan. That is one of the holy grail of Japanese western straights.

Congratulations Stefan, you have successfully acquired another razor from my "Must Get Before I Die" list.

All I'm saying is if you see someone dressed like a cat burglar rifling through your garbage cans looking at return address labels on shipping refuse, I have an alibi.

Or will have one by then.
!! Enjoy the exquisite taste sharpening sharpening taste exquisite smooth. Please taste the taste enough to ride cutlery.

I waited for a long time:

A Hoshi Tombo 8000 in NOS condition. It arrived yesterday and I had to sharpen it in the evening. This morning then a great shave.
Noteworthy is the sharpness that I generated on the Nakayama.
The blade corresponds to a semi hollow grinding and has a symmetrical geometry of the blade.
A beautiful addition to my modest little collection.

those are great blades, and are wedges not half hollows.

Thanks for the hint! I am careful with the term wedge. The blade has a visible hollow ground and thus significantly differs from wedges of English origin.

1/4 hollow and less hollow are referred to wedge grinds.

In my opinion they are the most visually attractive vintage razors on the market.

This Kikuboshi razor I got a few days ago. I dont want hide it from you.

The razor I got in NOS condition. I guess it comes from the sixties-seventies of the last century. Like me. We harmonize very well and I admire the perfect craftsmanship of the Japanese craftsmen. The blade is ground full-hollow and very fine. The sound is pleasant restraint.
