    I have seen several of that model it is not rare but less common than others. I also believe it is a later model Kikuboshi.

    No, no, I didn't buy out of Japan, and your right. This thing needs to be put to skin. I think this will be one that I send out for a honing though. Like I said, I'm fairly new to all of this and just learning to hone razors. I've been sharpening knives on stone my whole life, but this seems to be quite different.

    Seems like it. Has a very solid, heavy blade. I like that. Being a newb, it seems easier to shave with the hefty blades.
