I'd tend to agree.

Ah, that curvy sort of spine is common to French razors of the period?

Thanked: 4249In Camille Pagé book on cutlery, there is a Maurice Baudeau listed as a cutler in the Chatellerault region of France. But that said its from 1835 to 1845, that doesnt mean that he wasnt in business before that time.
But a little more research finds 2 Baudeau, Andre and Pierre, from a list of cutlers from 1792.
That makes more sense, since i really dont think that razor is from 1835, perhaps its in the right thread...Last edited by Martin103; 08-29-2016 at 04:09 PM.

Thanked: 77It really needs to be repined the center in on it was so bad that it would continuously cut into the scales. I managed to save the pin collar and I gave the blade a little bit polishing. Now I think I'm going to make new scales for it to accommodate its horrible edge geometry

I am happy to share a few older razors of mine that I hope squeak in the 1700's time frame. I have a few more that I will share soon but I thought I would start with these two.
First is a Harwood. Great blade shape on this one.
Second is an unbranded "warrented" with rough horn scales. I will keep the original scales on this one. I figure, if the team has stuck together for that long there is no reason to break them up now. and...who doesn't get a bit rougher looking with age?
I am trying to get my collection organized by "age of Razor" and I currently have these two toward the end of the 1700's. If anyone disagrees please speak up and I will rearrange the order I have come up with.
