Many thanks for that Fikira, your writing & research is excellent... it's nice to find that it falls into that age bracket.

The blade has a sort of "chamfer" on the face edge of the toe as well as the dip toe.

Intersting razor, the wood scales could be original, it's quite rare in this state.

Thanks for your reply Thaeris, here is another wooden handled razor...

These may or may not qualify to be here.

Two John Shepherd razors, both "dip at toe" blades, slightly different stamped marks. The top razor with the wooden handle has an iron rivet- peened both sides with bullseye type iron rivets. The bottom razor has obviously been reground & re handled, I wonder if it was old stock that was bought by another maker or a one off, e.g. someone taking in their razor to get "modernised"? The bottom razor shaves extremely well & is great to use.

Here is another that may or may not qualify to be here, its a bit of a puzzle as it's been reground from the looks of it. I thought it may have also been a John Shepherd but I don't think so now. Any input into maker of this razor is appreciated. Name: IMG_0222.jpg

Size: 19.3 KBIt's stamped Acier.Fondue & has a partially legible trademark. The scales are mottled & it has brass pins & pewter bullseye washers. The photo with the razor against the paper shows what angle I suspect the blade used to be- I could be TOTALLY wrong though.
This razor is my best shaver, the edge it gets & holds is unbelievable.

Yes, it has been reground. Trademark looks to be WOLF, which would be John Shepherd. I used to have one similar but without the regrinding, with the stamp in the same orientation and Acier Fondu.

Thanks ScienceGuy, I had thought it may have been a Shepherd, the character after the 'L' doesn't look like an F, but does look like a partial rotated crown.

I have this one on the way. I hope the pitting is not too deep at the toe.
    Any thoughts?Name: 249365464_75d1267c-532b-4f41-901b-dd2692e102c6.jpg

    Nice! I haven't seen a lot Shepherd's with a "Dip-at-toe", if I have seen one already!

    Interesting!
