Beautiful razor. It's important to note though that that directory is a snapshot, a razor from a maker listed in the 1787 directory could itself have been produced +/- a number of years, assuming the maker existed or was not closed afterwards.

Very nice early razor, that said i believed this razor was made by Robert Kippax (Kippax & Nowill) but he died in 1775, quite older then 1787?

I wonder if he had a son who followed in his footsteps? That or my razor is a little older.

He did and his name was Robert to! of course! Robert was in business with Thomas Nowill, the business was
"Kippax & Nowill". After Robert death in 1775 his son Robert junior joined the business with Nowill and it was called "Nowill & Kippax".
There is no evidence of junior using only Kippax on his work, but his Father Robert used the Kippax mark alone according to Reminiscences of Sheffield by R.E.Leader.

Thats why i said that your razor was probably made by Robert the father and he passed away in 1775.
