Very nice looking blade but I was wondering about those scales. Is that a new nail head type pin at the wedge end?

Some Hoppes have been shown bevore...

This one is ground from an old Guillermo Hoppe blanket by master Werner Breidenbach. Measures exactly 8/8. Perfect extra full hollow thin ground.

@hatzicho: nice Hoppe! What can you tell us about the scales?

These would originally not be 3 pinners and have the standard Hoppe / Zwilling shape.

    Keep on sharing people!

Yep, I was talking to Scott Lockwood about those modern pins, maybe a re-scale? The razor came out of Japan and is in a sleeve not a coffin, so it’s in the style of the later Le Grelot/TI. I’m guessing the blade is early 1970s?

    Any TI dating experts here?

Yes, a re-scale would be my guess also. The scale shape does not look typical TI either. No TI expert here but early 1970s would be as good a guess as any for the blade.

Blade was simply too wide to fit in original scales. So some special made ebony wood scales were used from Werner Breidenbach. Here a comparison of the blade and another one in original scales.

    @hatzicho: thnx 4 elaborating.

Top blade seems like a very nice razor.

What can you tell us about that one?

    Greetings, Jazor

Well top blade is a typical 14 Zwilling Guillermo Hoppe, same blade as shown here by others in the past. Still waiting for its restauration.

But the following one hasn't been shown quite often here I think.

It is also a Hoppe and from the sign on the cardbox G - H one could believe it was also made by Guillermo Hoppe. But this one is a so-called German Hoppe - which was trademark of Giessen & Forsthoff:

    Thanks for sharing Peter,

That's what I call a gorgeous blade with the swoop in the spine!

Am also a big fan of origial scales, certainly when they have a metal inlay.

    Greetinngs, Jazor
