It is made of Palissander wood.

Hahaha! I'm in love with it already! I'm very inexperienced, but the handling is great! You can always hand over the SR to your grand kids. Sounds like a good excuse to me.

Palisander = Rosewood. I quite fancy this myself with a Spanish point.

There was a number of years ago a wild sci fi short story about living in the future where, to maintain your current living, you could attach your descendents' future income. If the economy ever goes bluey again that might just occur to someone with an evil mind.

Just placed my order for a 7/8 Spanish point in black acrylic. It's my birthday in a few days, so why not?

Received my new Ralf Aust yesterday - bit of an anti-climax really, they mistakenly sent me a 7/8 round head in rosewood instead of the 7/8 spanish head in black acrylic.

Have contacted RA and he will replace with the correct model and refund postage, so I guess it's not too bad. Just means I'll have to wait a bit longer for my birthday gift from me.
