Not trying to have a fight, but why does the little tin have a hole that looks to be the same diameter as the handle, I can't see a hole in a blade storage tin being a lot of use, but if the razor had a blade in it the tin would stop you from cutting yourself on the blade when getting it in and out of the case etc.
Not saying your wrong as I really don't know, that was just my logic.

My guess would be the hole is to allow you to push the stack of blades up for easy removal one at a time. The blade holders I have are like the box for a deck of cards with the end open and half circle cutouts at the open end to help you get the blades out.

So had to pick up a prescription today, at another Shoppers Drugmart...for the sake of it, went to see if they had any DE blades.

    They did...Wilkinson DE's!

Looked for the price...gasped...thought that must be wrong, but wouldn't surprise me given current trends.

So grabbed two packs, that's 10 blades in each, went to the checkout, and yup...

    $15.99 each!!!

I laughed, said are you sure, they sell for about $2.00 online?

She said yup, that's the price, so I said thank-you, left them there, and left the store.

    $15.99...wow!

Frankly, this is a conspiracy, now it's all just a matter of waiting for the movie to come out....

I have found the blades in most of the Big Bottle Drug Emporiums to be over priced and often corroded in the package, especially the "GEM's". ( even the so called "stainless" ) I gave up on them a couple years ago.

You're learning quick, on line is the only way to go for DE blades.

Cost was a big factor in me switching over.. In my neck of the woods, a pack of those mach5 blades is darn near $30 and they dont even last that long. Not to mention, 5 blades is no substitute for 5 passes with a single. They say in one pass, you get the same shave.. i say BS, there is always some grit left over on your face when your done with one. Where as, only 2 or 3 passes with my straight and im baby but smooth

Im also an environmentally conscience guy, and couldnt stand the thought of throwing away all that metal and plastic every week. It all goes and sits in a landfill forever, So i now use a straight
I do have a DE if i need it, but i really prefer this straight over it.
It took a boring chore, and made it a fun way to start the day

No kidding, I was fairly satisfied with my double-blade Atra. No fuss, no muss. Over time, new 'shaving systems' were showing up on my shelf. I asked SWMBO'd what was up and she said she couldn't get the blades any more so I had to upgrade. That happened again and again until I was using Fusion-5. I went to the store to pick them up AND SO HELP ME THEY HAD THE CARTRIDGES UNDER LOCK AND KEY!!!
    Never again!
Razor blade carts are the most common item to be shop lifted down here, probably the same where you are. Haven't looked at the price for a while, but if they are $27 in the US, they will be well over $30 NZ here.
