    Default %$#$$%% OMG - Unbelievable!

I thank that the forum rules prevent profanity...so fellow members...feel free to let go with a profanity laden tirade.

So did some grocery shopping, and wandering through the aisles, ended up in the men's shaving section. Thought to myself, you know, I really should get some cartridges for my Fusion 5 shaver, you never know when you'll need it.

So while checking out, I'm watching the display as it totals up, and I almost coughed up a hair ball.

    $26.72 for 5 cartridges!!!!

Are you [insert cuss word] kidding me!?!

I started babbling and spluttering to all those in the check-out with me like a drunken fool, "Holy cow, now I know why I use a straight razor", over and over again!!

It's been so long since I bought any, last time I remember they were like $17.50, which is ridiculous in and of itself, but almost $30!!!

So, next time the wife mentions anything about my razors, I'm going to go and ask her, next time she's at the store, to pick me up some Fusion cartridges...will be interesting to hear her say, "Sheesh, that's ridiculous, for cartridges, now I know why you shave with a straight!!"

Ahhhh...if only that could be true and actually happen!

    But really, $26.72...that's insane...what, next year they'll be $35 a pop!?!

I am sorry to hear of your terrible & distressing experience Phrank.
You would have benefited far more by taking that ~$30 and investing in a DE and a few blades.
There may indeed be times when your straight can not be your go to grooming tool... but don't let yourself sink to multi-blade level. It's obviously not worth your peace of mind.

Oh you didn't get the gold plated , vibrating, self cleaning, self dulling, advanced blades with the guarantied smoothest shave ever ?? Oh and I think the 26.72 is a down payment.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

The higher those cartridges go for, the less guilty I feel about my RAD!

The last time I bought Mach 3 cartridges, they were $16 for a 5 pack! I paid that money to do a chore that I dreaded. Boy, am I glad those dark days are behind me!

Yup, been using the SR for over a year now...thought I'd pick up some cartridges just to have them around...you never know.

Saw a beautiful gold plated DE Gillette that someone just got, think next time I'm looking around, if I see a DE I'm going to grab it.

I'm telling you that is the exact reason that I made the switch 3+ months ago.
No kidding, I was fairly satisfied with my double-blade Atra. No fuss, no muss. Over time, new 'shaving systems' were showing up on my shelf. I asked SWMBO'd what was up and she said she couldn't get the blades any more so I had to upgrade. That happened again and again until I was using Fusion-5. I went to the store to pick them up AND SO HELP ME THEY HAD THE CARTRIDGES UNDER LOCK AND KEY!!!
    Never again!
