Not sure you could anywhere to be honest.
I fly to and from work and just put my bag in the hold, it isn't that inconvenient, and it means I don't have to leave razors at work and home. I know I could, but I won't.

Yes from the health inspector!! that nasty! The one thing that got me into straights and I haven't seen it posted here yet.. was the green factor. My oldest son got into the whole reduce, reuse, thing and it got me to thinking. So I bought some old DE's (gave one to each of my sons and one for me) and a few straights (ALL for me). Now the 18 year old uses he's DE and I my straights and the DE (when I grow my beard for hunting season). But now the 23 year old uses Carts that he buys himself. (said its to much work to shave with a DE) Ya, I dont get it either...sometimes there's no accounting for some peoples children.

That is about the only reason I have twin bladed disposables on hand too. I will not put anything I value in my checked baggage and I do value my straights even the cheapies.

The environmental consideration is certainly there, for me anyway, though probably not originally top of the list for me it certainly was there, and is a pleasant side effect.

I don't miss cartridges one iota. Funny thing though. I have a stainless cartridge handle sitting in the meds cabinet wasting away. What bums me out though is how stores like Walgreens and Rite aid have pretty much stopped carrying DE blades now. It's all cartridge stuff...bleach !

Yea, unfortunately finding DE blades is like trying to buy film in stores. It is all pretty much order from the web which is what I did and now have a lifetime supply of DE blades for very cheap compared to store retail prices. You can still find a great used DE razor for cheap if you scout around a bit too.

Yes, now the task of DE blades...the big Loblaws I was at yesterday where I bought the carts, and yes, they were under lock and key as someone mentioned, I noticed did have a couple of packs of DE blades...they were Wilkinson blades in that old square plastic dispenser...I assume they are fine, but I have noticed several discussions on various DE blades.

Well, the DE I just snagged off E-Bay came with an unused and unopened Thin Gillette Blade, guess it's your first free blade....

Go to your favourite web supplier and see if they offer sample packs of various DE blades that way you can see which ones suit you best. Then you can lay in a cheap supply of your favourites. The retail price of DE blades in Canada is ridiculous.

    Will do...any recommendations?

The one I purchased comes with a Thin Gillette Blade, pic shows it in a cardboard sleeve...wonder what it is...one free blade? I guess for $50 can't expect the world, but it looked good...just picked one that was available for shipment to Canada and was relatively inexpensive...does come in a nice case though!

Yes it is shocking. I had been an Atra guy my whole life and was totally happy untill losing the razor a couple years ago then having to search E-Bay for one. Blades became increasingly difficult to find and more expensive. Found a DE at the thrift store and use blades and soap from Wall Mart or Wallgreens. I figure shaves are costing about 5 cents a pop with this set up and are much closer than with the Atra. I'm still struggling with some old straights and a homemade one, so mainly on the DE for now.
