Well darn it, I did it...went and looked at a couple of DE's on E-Bay and just went and pulled the trigger on a Gillette DE...

I made the switch to wet shaving when I tallied up what Fusions were costing me on an annual basis. Now I'll just have to shave with my Robert Williams for the next 50 years for the savings to mount up.

If you just want cheap the own brand disposables are a couple of bucks for 50 or so. But honestly how low do you go?
Singeing hair would be almost free but a bit risky, and hard to effectively shape beards etc.

Must be why people I know use the same multi bladed wonder for 3 to 6 months before replacing it.

I used to use the same cart head for ages, or until it clogged up with 3-4 day stubble whichever happened first. I much prefer straights from an enjoyment point of view though.

I think I'd need to shave with cartridges for about 675 years to make up for the money I've spent on straights.

I still keep one but only because you can't carry either a straight or DE/SE blade in hand luggage on a plane over here.

The difference is that a used straight still has some value, I wonder if I would get any bites if I put my used Schick cartridge heads on eBay
