Thanked: 3228I tend to think the 7/8 TI razor linked to might be the real deal for a couple of reasons. Firstly they would be taking an awful chance faking the TI stamping on the tang due to copyright infringement suits and I think TI will make up razors to order if the order is big enough. I did a quick search and could not find a 7/8 TI dreadnought blade for that price at retail stores in Canada and the UK.
If someone on here does take the chance on it, I would be interested to know the outcome.

Thanked: 983Like the Grim Reaper, I think that razor might suck the soul out of you. Unlike the Grim Reaper, you'd live to regret it. I would stay away from that razor and spend money on something worth your while...Even if it has a name like Bambi...Now there's a thought to take the fear away from 'cut-throats'! Bring out a brand named Bambi. It's sure to lull the naysayers into a sense of safety and security! But it will have to be a razor of sound quality, unlike the Grim.

Thanked: 3164I dont think there is any doubt that the ti is a ti - only its been devalued by having that ghastly logo laser etched on it.
As Bob says, international copyright laws would not allow it, and ti would come down on them like a ton of bricks.
As for the other grim branded razors, they are a different kettle of fish altogether...

Neil

Yeah, I think I was looking at the 5/8 version, the 7/8 seem to go for about this much.
I don't know, if I wanted a new TI, I may decide to live with the etch and get it from there. But I would make absolutely sure I don't get 'upgraded' to one of the other grim branded razors even if they are listed as more expensive implying better. The pricing structure is very wrong, and I don't think it is a mistake.

Surely if someone really wanted to know whether it's a TI, they could email TI and ask.

Thanked: 3228The link went directly to the the 7/8 TI stamped razor and my comments were for that one. I had another search and took a gander at the Grim branded razors and would also be a little leery of those.
This is the closest match that I could find to the linked 7/8 TI razor from a Canadian retailer Thiers Issard Singing Straight Razor 6/8", Faux Tortoise Scales | Fendrihan Shaving Store . It is one size smaller and has the less expensive round tip and yet is more than the linked 7/8 TI razor. Yea, the pricing does make you wonder.

Thanked: 1587At least they didn't add the greengrocer's apostrophe. It's all about the punctuation.
Reminds me of the time I approached TI for a custom etch on an 8/8 dreadnought. I wanted it to say
Jimbo's Huge TI.
Jimbo's Huge. TI
