OK, I'll be the dissenting voice then - you've been at this for a couple of months only, so it is not wise to spend too much money on something you may not value so much down the road.
I don't find much too special about this set - it's different spine works (not even the full range of TI designs), but the scales are cheap plastic. I know it's functionally better than say horn, but it ruins the luxury factor of the set while horn wouldn't, and even (rare) wood wouldn't.
They may be executed better than the standard run of the mill though, that would be a plus and even though the pictures are made for marketing and don't show the workmanship well (I mean honestly) at all, I see some signs towards that.
I've always hated the heavy handed TI marketing of recent years, and do it with this one as well. In my opinion there is truly one special series that merited Pierre Thiers name and that was the one with blanks forged by him, which TI monetized well few years ago. But that's just my personal dislike and doesn't have much to do with the razors.
I would say at this point get one TI razor that really appeals to you. If you really like it get another one in six months or so and in a year you'll be in a much better position to know whether you really want to have a special set like this one.
BTW when I was new to this, a month or two, I really wanted a particular brand. Suddenly there was the opportunity to get an expensive razor of that brand and I did it - one of the best purchases I've made. But that's one of the finest crafted razors ever (TI aren't) and with very rare exotic materials - it was the quality and the exclusivity that justified not waiting until I was more experienced.

I'm definitely with Gugi on this - why on earth would you want several pretty average razors - variety is the spice of life, but don't mention that to your wife either.
Edit. In fact why not blow that amount on one really great razor and then justify it by explaining that one great razor is like one great wife - better than several lesser ones.Last edited by UKRob; 09-06-2014 at 08:39 PM.
My service is good, fast and cheap. Select any two and discount the third.

Perhaps I didn't express myself clearly in my previous post. If you've got it ...... spend it ....... but ...... I personally prefer more variety than that set offers. IOW, I would get tired of it quickly. Here is an example of an accumulation that took seven years and, while not consistent in style and design, is preferable to me ..... Obviously YMMV. Thanked: 3224If you are looking at justifying the purchase on the grounds of the value increasing over time being it is a limited edition, think hard. Limited to how many sets world wide? As many as they think they can sell?
Winchester made a whole slew of limited edition commemorative model 94s and only a few are/were worth big bucks years later. The most valued of any limited edition items are always NIB, New In the Box, never used items.

They should have made it 14 razors and you would have a 2 week set. Or you could get that plus 2 extra special razors for Sunday and have a personalized 2 week set. I am up to something like a 10 week set at this point.
