Thanks for bringing up SEs. That reminds me I haven't used mine in awhile so I should dust them off and give them a workout again.

I am on my way to work in the morning and will be taking my Rapide for a honing and shaving. It's a new adventure.

    These are Really good:
    Blades

You want the ones labeled "Single Edge, PTFE- Coated, Stainless Steel Blades, box/200"

Funny thing is that aisle 12 at grocery store had the Gems and a generic brand of SE blades but no DE blades. The pharmacy chain store across the street had DEs but no SEs.

    Cool!
Nice of you to send this out.
Surprising that they are so popular down there and you write that there is even a generic brand???
Around these parts we are lucky to find DE blades?
Are there that many Gem shavers in Missouri?

I am perplexed as to why the store would carry two brands of SEs. I don't think they are popular around here. On the other hand I have bought super cheep SEs for cleaning burnt gunk off my stove and peeling paint.

I have read that the SE blades used in scrapers are not the same as the ones for shaving with. I think you can still get SE scraper blades up here.

Sometimes we go for a Sunday drive across the border to a little town in northern MN pop under 1400. I was surprised to find 2 or 3 places there that sold several brands of SE shaving blades.
