    Exactly, I think with the angle of less than 90 degrees the Gem/Everready helps to lay the blade flatter to the face.
    The test would be to fit an Astra into a Gem and go for it.

    Just curious after seeing the less than 90 degree comment, at what angle do you use your DE at?

    I just sat down at the computer after my 2nd shave with the Gem and the same SE blade that John sent me.
    Just as comfortable as the first.

    OK, I think I understand. There is less razor head in the way with an SE compared to a DE. Try a vintage Gillette OC if you get a chance to.

    I think also referred to as "shovel head", not necessarily less razor head but more convenient angle.
