    It should be this
    精良本山合砥
    Seiryou Honzan Awasedo
    Seiryou means extremely good!

    Look at the pic! It's the same group of kanji. So the first one is incomplete on that stone.

    Hi Arsenico
    I have a hone I bought quite some time ago & I got it cheap. I got it out not long ago & was looking at it. While I was looking at it, I flipped it over 7 found some writing on the bottom of the base I did not see before. I want to know if you can translate it.

    Hi Steve...
    都窪郡妹尾町箕島 On your stone there is an address. Tsukubo Senoo...should be in Okayama Prefecture, South of Japan.
    箕島 these 2 last kanji means Mishima or Minoshima...a name or a place... But I haven't found any place called Mishima in Okayama prefecture, but i might be wrong.
    Last letters are Katakana ハマダ Hamada and サー that means "sir", so COULD be sir Hamada, but the order is different...
    Numbers on top should be the date...Showa 43 (1968), April 26th..

    I need some more time for the kamisori...gonna show the picture to some of my friends

    Hi Stefan, this is a Sasuga razor. サスガ in the triangles. Other kanji are the ususal "trade Mark" and "Special Made" stuff.
    Hope this helps.

    Thanks to Fakira's Kanji page, I think I found my kamisori. The seller had said it was a Fuji & that it was high grade. I was wanting to verify that & please tell me if I'm right. Look on the Kanji page here:

    https://historyrazors.wordpress.com/...subscribe-blog

    I scrolled down to the "f"'s for Fuji & that is what it shows, an almost identical pic of my kamisori.

    Yep, that is a Fuji Tamahagane
    "純玉鋼別打" "実?" = "Jun Tamahagane betsu uchi" "mi?"
    = specially made/forged genuine Tamahagane
    特級 = Tokkyū, high grade
    登録商標 = tōroku shōhyō
    冨二 = Fuji

    Could I use the picture for the page please? Especially for the last kanji

    Thanks! (It's Fikira by the way )
