I would never spend 450 on a TI haha. I'm just not rich... I am still kicking my self for buying an XM-18... great knife but man I do not need it!
Then you did the right thing. Sorry it didn't work out. That's how tgis game works though. Lots of people like coticules, I can't shave off em for nothing. Some soaps get stellar reviews, they don't do jack for me. It's about testing as many razors, stones, soaps etc that you can and finding what works for you. It's definitely a stomach churning feeling buying a "new" razor and being completely dissappointed.

P.S. I'm not rich, but I find good deals on ebay and flip em. It's allowed me to spend more money on razors and stones than I've ever imagined possible. Just don't let my fiancé hear that!

hahah! I won't do worry. I keep wanting to flip these razors from ebay, but I end up liking them too much.
I actually just ordered some greaseless compound, I found a site recommended here that is like 40 miles from my home. I ordered some 600 grit greaseless... i'm hoping it will be faster than the classic sandpaper, then black white green red compounds. My results are good now, just takes forever.
On the subject, not sure if anyone here is familiar with the Edgepro apex, and the polishing tapes but wow... they are GREAT for polishing razors for restore.

Maybe send an email to Lynn and see if you can get one without him honing it. I do understand wanting to hone your own razors, it just makes the shave that much better. I have bought 3 straight razors from SRD and have found that the customer service is top notch. Give it a try and enjoy your shave!

Lol, same exact problem here. I say I'm going to sell them because I got good deals. Then I decide to hang on to them for a little bit because they are so nice. I've been not so lucky on ebay recently so I think I'm going to do more selling in the classifieds here. Nothing hurts more than watching a $200 razor sell for $80.

I also use the 600 greasless. It's good stuff. I find it tricky sometimes to make the transition from 600 to the different compunds. I do think I've been overloading the compounds though, read the buffing tutorial on their website, it helped me a lot!

    Hey guys listen to this!
So I contacted the vendor, they are going to let me return the SECOND razor for a refund. They told me that
"boker rarely returns emails or calls to vendors or customers, and that we opened ALL of the razors we had in that model, and the one we sent you was the straightest one"
Now let me tell you, this razor is CLEARLY bent out of whack, and some are WORSE THAT THEY HAVE!!!!!
So back to the original name of this thread, yes Boker has terrible quality control. So have fun with your good modern Bokers you have, your lucky!
Ps-Boker never returned my calls or answered my emails.
