Thanked: 5I already re packaged it for return shipping to hopefully get a refund. However if I was ganna take a pic, if you hold the razor blade facing you, and look down the spine you can clearly see how bent it is from heat treat. I know none are perfect, but when laid on one side, the heel touches and the toe does not, and vice versa when you rock it. Its as clear as day.

Thanked: 250I can't figure this out. In fact I just pulled my new Silver Steel out of its coffin box to check the hone wear on the spine and edge. Lynn has the edge perfect and the hone wear on the spine would have to be measured with a micrometer to detect any variance. Don't give up on those new Bokers. My advice is to get one from SRD that has passed Lynn's inspection and honing. They are wonderful razors.

Thanked: 5I think im just ganna call it on the Bokers all together, especially since their customer service will not respond to me.
I don't need honing, I just need a new razor haha, I understand Lynn is a great guy, but I can hone my own razors. One common theme I see in this forum is if anyone is having a problem shaving, or with their razor the only answer I ever hear is "have lynn hone it"
I refuse to have to roll and hone in a special way on a brand new Boker German made razor, its just un acceptable. If it was a cheapie, or something old and banged up, or hand made by a no namer, sure just hone around it. If dovo can make a razor for 65 bucks plus tax that sits nearly perfect on the hone, Boker should be able to at 120.

Thanked: 237I agree and disagree. Many razors don't sit flat on the hones. It's a fact of life, and learning to hone them is both challenging and rewarding. If I got rid of every razor I own that doesn't sit flat on the hones, I'd be out for about half my collection lol.
Imagine spending $450 on a new TI and having worse problems than your boker. I agree there are QC problems that will only be addressed by raising flags. Now raising a flag to a vendor doesn't necessarily mean boker will ever hear about it, so I say keep on trying to get in touch with them direct.

Thanked: 5This is more than just not sitting flat, I mean its pretty bad. If it was acceptable I would just deal with it. I find it strange that zer of my 4 modern dovos have this issue, they all sit just fine on the hone. Couple aren't perfect but good enough. The boker is like a babys cradle.
I would never spend 450 on a TI haha. I'm just not rich... I am still kicking my self for buying an XM-18... great knife but man I do not need it!

Hate to hear that about your Boker. I bought this one from SRD (sorry the pic isn't great) and have shaved with it at the most 10 times. All I have done is give it a little kiss on the strop.

Thanked: 250Let me add this yet. When I bought my new Boker from SRD I checked it out for warpage on surface plate and she was dead nuts on. When it does need rehoning I'll do it myself without any problems because it passed SRD's inspection.

Thanked: 5Thats very nice! I wish you could buy from SRD without getting a honing service. I would be more likely to go through them.
