This man can and will build traditional-type razors. They look darn nice.
    I totally like that!
Gotcha, and you're right. The razors I've seen from him are very well done. I've even had a friend's in hand and it was flawless.

After a few weeks of ownership, I still love my Riga, but if I were to ever have him make me a custom job, I would ask for the tang to be wider. I find it a bit ....troublesome?... to flip while stropping. Just feels like it needs a little more meat to hold on to.

You got the Tungsten carbon steel...beautiful, closest thing to Sheffield steel I've felt...love the shave from it.

Was super easy to hone as well, nice flat blade, stuck to the hones, and took a beautiful edge off a nice natural.

Will look for it in the SOTD....

Its thanks to this thread and you Andrew that I ended up with a Riga Razor. I was browsing this thread and I thought id have a quick look on Ebay and there was one at auction with about 10 mins to go. Put in a bid and won!
The fit and finish is of a very high standard, far better than my Mastro Livi. The grind is very well done and symmetrical with a tiny and even bevel. I really am quite impressed with the quality of this custom razor.

    Looking forward to tomorrows shave.

They're beautiful blades, I have the same one in 9/8 +...I call it the, RigaRazor, Ottoman Egyptian...very close in design to that classic W&B.

And when he does them in the Tungsten steel....nothing sweeter IMO.

Your collection induces me to drool, Phrank. I especially appreciate that Lancet design you acquired earlier this year. With any luck, I will soon have a budget to use on these various ADs I suffer from so badly.

I just pulled the trigger on this model also. I can't wait! What's shipping time from Latvia? It's like Amazon Prime, two days right?? Maybe three??
