Sheesh, been a long time since I got the "voice" from the wife to get the heck off, "your stupid razor site and help out"....yikes! Litter boxes cleaned, and my chores with the kids done....I shoulda known better!
It's very typical of the Rattler, Faux Frameback type grind, tapers down to a very hollow grind, I'd say 1/2 hollow, probably more, it's a very big, wide blade.
For me, it's surprising how much this steel feels like Sheffield steel, and I'm glad I sent them to Val to hone, he brought the best edge out of these razors.
As has been posted over and over again, "shave ready" is subjective, and for me, I wouldn't have felt these razors were, "shave ready". They certainly shaved, but I guess in this hobby we're spoiled with superb edges, and in my opinion, it was the right move to get these done by a pro, my skills just aren't there yet....

Sweet looking blades, Phrank! Looks like you will have no regrets shaving with those meat choppers.

Thanked: 480My R.R. just arrived!
I purchased it off the bay, from is..ma
I had written to Sergej before bidding, to be sure they were actually his razors. He vouched for the seller and said he was helping out for a little while. I'm going to assume the bidding was low simply because this was a new seller and people were unsure. But it allowed me to win a razor I would not have been able to afford otherwise!
This is the first razor i have EVER owned that could pass a hanging hair test with MY hair. I'm almost scared to shave with it. Phrank, what tape would you think is closest to the tape Sergej uses? I doubt I will want to do any honing on this for a while, but they all need it eventually. (I'll add a photo soon as my battery charges)

Sergej was actually very cool and sent me a roll of the tape he used, it is much wider than our normal tape.
Yes, the blades come uber sharp, but I'm particular about my edges and I experienced some minor issues with what I would term, "shave ready", totally subjective I know...but I like certain edges, and like the K. Herr one I just received as well, all went right to the stones after a shave or two. The Kerr is actually on the stones now...just finished 5k...
Will be great to hear what you think, they are certainly beautifully done razors, at a great cost, super happy I grabbed my two...
So as the saying goes...where's the pic?

Great looking razor there. I like the rigas. I'll have one eventually but it seems the ones with rounded points run a bit more. And since I've been buying and spending, maybe, just maybe I'll slow down.........then again probably not

Thanked: 480Shave report..... my face looks like a rose bush has bloomed. Between my iron beard, and the decision to remove the beard, and my being used to shaving with 6/8 instead of 8/8 I have obliterated my face. Certainly cant fault the razor though. I'll give it another go in a few days.
