Thanked: 1YoooHaaa!! The RigaRazor arrived about an hour ago! Very nice indeed can't wait to give it a shave. Came pretty well packaged inside a nice box. I am wondering how it will react when it comes time to hone this blade though, being tungsten and all. Just have to figure that out when the time comes. I even got myself a nice little Simpson Persian Jar, in super badger. I can thank SRD for the new brush, man those guys are nice to deal with.
Just wanted to let ya all know

Thanked: 1I'm sorry, I just meant the last page or two. I not sure of his name and contact info but others here on the forum do. I purchased mine though a eBay auction. Just search "RigaRazor" and you should find it. I believe you probably could contact him though the eBay store. The maker is from Latvia, I believe Griffith Shaving Goods has a few of them in stock.

Has any one had any luck getting the Scapa tape that Sergej uses to hone his razors? He told me it is .13mm (about 5mil)thick and the model number is 2702. So far everybody I've contacted only sells it by the case or $100 minimum.
Do you think using 7mil tape to touch up will make any difference?Last edited by tintin; 09-22-2017 at 10:48 PM.

tintin, Mike (outback) use electrical tape to touch up my Riga when I sent it to him to be pinned.
It took him a bit, he said that tungsten is H A R D and had micro chips on the edge. But now....butter baby, butter.
I know he didn't reset the bevel, so I say go for itLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

I've got a roll of the tape, and the difference between this tape and most electrical tape is so small it will make no difference at all.
I've touched up my 3 using whatever tape I managed to grab and no issues.....

Are you saying that good electrical tape is tape?
I mean....It's tape!
I do like the 3M stuff Mike sent me. Lots more durable than what I had been using.
Perhaps a wee bit thicker as well.
By the time the 1K passes and down through the grits, half or less is there on the spine?
Otherwise, with cheaper tape, I would keep changing the tape to wind-up at the same spot.
It's just tape!
