It's not a tool unless it's used. I would shave with them.

Thanked: 77I highly doubt they where never used. There probably really well cared for. Besides razors are supposed to come from the factory shave ready so if it's not shave ready already than that should say something on its own. I don't see how making it shave ready will hurt the value. And yes pictures would be nice. [emoji1]

I have had a few razors I bought as NOS, honed & shaved with them for a while. I ended up selling all but one, a Fromm Red Head with box and I do shave with it. If I can't shave with a razor I don't want it, but that's just me.

Thanked: 4827Well that depends on the condition. I do recall someone seeing an advertisement for a sealed, true NIB razor. It was pretty pricey. No guarantee that it was in great condition either. Some people have broken the seal on the box and pulled out an unusable and un-restorable razor. They were brand new too. So new and unused does not make them perfect. If they are in fact unused and in perfect condition then using them could jeopardize the price. If you are going to have them for collection purposes then leave them. I have a couple of new razors, with the factory grease still on them that are not going to be used. I have also used many razors that I got in unused condition. Sometimes you know they need to be used and sometimes you know they need to be kept perfect and unused. I have used 98% of the unused stuff I have received.

Thanked: 6I would use them if I bought them with the intention of using them. But all my razors so far are bought to be used. From a collectors standpoint if they are unused nos I would keep them that way if that was the reason I bought them. I wouldn't mind having a few nos razors to collect but it would be really hard not to use them ever. Lol

To me I would probably use since I'm not a collector. Also IMHO you could probably never prove it was unused unless it was still sealed in the original packaging. A razor that was truly shave ready from the factory and well taken care of could probably be used a lifetime with occasional touch ups and not really be able to tell the difference from when it was first bought.
