I manufacture tools for a living. If I knew that a customer purchased one of my tools and let it sit and rust away I would be very disappointed. I would be dreaming that the tool would one day find an owner who used it and appreciated it for what it could do, not for what it looks like on a shelf. Just another point of view.

@Elias thanks for sharing! Beautiful razor.

Razors hardly ever came from the factory "Shave Ready" & even today it is the same way. Several sellers will hone & strop a new razor. With many it is free or some charge around $15.00 or $20.00.

Nothing wrong with not using the new old stock razors. I have several razors that I display and have not shaved with. If it were sealed I would have to open and check it out. That Wade and Butcher is great. Good luck whatever you decide.

Since it's been opened and used and the value has dropped and everything... I'll PayPal you a cool $50 for it

Wow - that's a first for me, never seen a true NOS Wade and Butcher...that is truly amazing, coffin box, sealed, wrapper and the blade in perfect condition....totally awesome....that's probably the first and last time I'll see something like that.

    Thanks!!!

Thanks to everybody for the kind words.
this razor seems to be part of a 6 razor-lot found in Sothampton. I was told that the other 5 razors were sold and shipped to someone in or nearby Ney York. But then i lost the trace. i know that one member of a german razor forum has one identical, too. But i don't know, if his razor is from the same lot. So there must be other 4 sealed and NOS W&B somewhere. Since i am very interested in the story behind this razors, i would be glad if somebody could give more information.
