I have no idea whether or not it's rare. I've just never heard of another mentioned in my time here.
Here's a couple of quick pics of my Henckels Friodur Shoulderless 72-V.
It's a 1/4 grind.

This is the only one of these I have seen in 10+ years of researching straight razors: a Pranafa Solingen 451, made from finest Sheffield steel forged and real hollow ground in Germany, Greek writing on blade. Can't find much info on the internet about it.
Picked it up on the Bay for $25 shipped, had a few extra bucks in PayPal account and thought "Oh hell, let's take a chance on it, I can spare $25 if it doesn't work out" and ended up being a real fine shaver."If You Knew Half of What I Forgot You Would Be An Idiot" - by DoughBoy68

Aloha!
I have no earthly idea. I'm not a "collector" per se. I love straight razors for what they are. If I happen to have something valuable or rare, then good on me. If not, no worries.
My most commonly valuable would be my Wade and Butcher FBU, but that's probably not my "rarest" by any stretch. I'd have to post my entire collection here and someone that knows the value of all razors would have to chime in and say, "WOW! you have an XYZ from ABC! That's amazing!"
But most likely my collection is more common than that. But I love it just the same.

But Zip! Rare does not always equate to valuable! Just seldom-seen!

Aloha Sharp. I know. I should have been more clear. I have no earthly idea which of my razors "might" be seldom-seen. I just don't follow rarity in our passion of Straight Razors. I love them and cherish them, and I "Suspect" I have a few rare ones, but I don't know. Some day I may tackle photographing them one by one and posting so you scholars of the genre can tell see if anything I have is "rare".

Thanked: 156I do have a few rare ones...
This is a first generation Tamahagane razor made at Sanjo Works by Iwasaki and Yukio Kamijo....it's signed by both on the face of the tang....on the back tang there's the batch and no of the razor --->617.6
I have only seen @ 3 of these in the last 7 years and all were in bad shape.
I also have an Iwasaki + Yukio Kamijo Sweedish steel razor
This is rare because Yukio was old and he only colaborated a few years with Iwasaki before he retired.
Another rare one is this Iwasaki Sponge steel or directly reduced iron razor....there were @ 50 made.
only seen one of these
Another rare one...
An Iwasaki Frameback.
A super rare Iwasaki TS razor...have no idea what it means...its the same as my iwasaki no 50.
i do have a few more but they are not that rare.
I do have some rare Yukio Kamijo razors...
these are 3rd generation...
my rarest kamijo is this 1st gen red Kanji razor.
...well the kanji aint red no more but i plan to solve that problem and put some period specific scales ti it.
